Label Identifies Products Made with Wind Power The growing hunger for more sustainable products took a unique path when some of world’s leading companies and non-profit organisations supported the development of the first global consumer label identifying products made with wind energy. This was announced by the Secretary General of the Global Wind Energy Council (GWEC) Steve Sawyer. To use the label producers would have to pass a test confirming their use of wind power and in return they can benefit from a possible price premium similar to that organic foods has over conventional produce. The label was unveiled recently at the World Energy Summit in Abu Dabhi. Windmade label is a step in progress towards raising consumer awareness and displaying the importance of sustainable, renewable energy. The aim is to produce a certification label which identifies corporations and products made with wind energy.
